How The Process Works

Step 1: Mark Stovall Home Inspections, LLC will need some basic information about your home: The number of heated square feet, the year built, and if the home has a crawl space, basement, or is on a concrete slab. At this point we will need to know what, if any, ancillary inspections you require.

Step 2: Once the initial information is provided, our scheduling software will send you a confirmation email to ensure the basic information, the inspection time and date, and the required ancillary inspections are correct. This email will also provide the cost of the inspection(s), as well as a contract (required by state law) to be signed electronically. Further, the scheduling system will send you email and text reminders as the inspection date draws near.

Step 3: At the agreed date and time, Mark Stovall Home Inspections, LLC will evaluate your home per North Carolina Home Inspector Standards Of Practice And Code Of Ethics. We will further ensure that the ancillary inspections are complete or appropriately in progress.

Step 4: If you are able to attend the end of the inspection, we will present all of the pictures and information gathered during the inspection in a brief verbal report. This is a good time for us to put any findings in perspective, and for you to ask questions.

Step 5: Within 24 hours Mark Stovall Home Inspections, LLC will email you a link to a written report on the condition of your home. This report could be 25 – 30 pages long – depending on the findings and will include a summary of defects in the first few pages. Typically, the summary is used by you and your real estate professional in negotiating and decision making. While all of the items discussed in the Step 4 verbal report, once you are able to digest the written report, you may realize you have more questions.
