If you are feeling anxious, I understand. Buying a home is exciting, but even under the best of circumstances, it can be anxiety provoking. Is this the right house? What if there is a roof leak; a crack in the foundation? What if the heat or air conditioning doesn’t work? Is there something about this house that could harm my family?
I understand. I also have a family that I want to be safe and happy. I also own a home, with all the pleasures and heartache that go with it.
At each inspection, I am reminded that, while I evaluate hundreds of houses each year, this is your special home. Your home is the biggest investment and expense you will encounter. And for many, buying a home is a once in a lifetime experience. I get the importance of this event. I understand.
Don’t Panic. You are taking steps to make the most informed decision you can make. Whether it was your Realtor’s suggestion, a friend, your parents, or your own innate desire to know more about your home, when you choose to get a home inspection, you make a wise investment.
I am trained and licensed by the State of North Carolina to systematically review houses and report my findings to you. North Carolina is one of a handful of states that legislate a standard operating procedure for home inspectors. North Carolina home inspectors are required to take a state exam, complete continuing education each year, and are held to a strict ethics standard. So why pick me?
I am experienced. For years I built and remodeled homes in Wake county, NC. I spent years in the building industry selling lumber commodities, millwork, and home fixtures. While my sons were young, I owned a handyman company so that I could control my schedule and be available for the boys. During that time, I worked for Realtors, repairing items from inspection reports – just like the report I will produce for you. For the calendar year 2017, I performed 436 inspections, and in 2018 I will hit the 1000 mark for career inspections.
I will go through all of the findings with you and produce a written report within 24 hours. Typically, I will take 200 250 pictures as I go through a home. If you are able to attend the end of the inspection, I will review the photos with you, to show you both the positive and negative aspects of the home. If you are not able to attend the inspection; I’ve done the review over the phone, via Skype, and through audio and video recordings.
I will answer any questions you have, to the best of my ability. I work for you. My goal is to give you confidence that you are making the right decisions regarding your home. I want you to come away from the inspection and report feeling like you really know your home inside and out.
I will do everything in my power to help you feel calm and in control during your home buying (or selling) process.
Giving you confidence to make the right decision
